Brand Identity

The Project

Infochoice wanted to relaunch their services in the Australian market as the financial comparison leader. The goal was to craft a distinctive brand identity and develop a cutting-edge mobile-first website within a demanding nine-month timeframe, aimed at enhancing user engagement and simplifying the comparison of financial and insurance products.

My Role

As the Lead UI/UX and Visual Product Designer, I spearheaded the redesign of InfoChoice’s brand and digital experience. My role involved orchestrating the entire design process, guiding a talented team of UX and icon designers, and collaborating with key stakeholders, including the Head of Digital and CEO, to ensure alignment with strategic goals and deadlines.

The Process

InfoChoice was established in 1993 to make comparing financial and insurance products quick and easy. Their website is a one-stop comparison site where visitors can compare financial and insurance products. To meet the project’s objectives within the tight deadline, we approached the redesign with a strategic and integrated methodology:

I began by reimagining the brand identity, crafting a vibrant and modern visual language that included a new logo and design elements. The brand identity was characterized by a bold blue color palette, contemporary typography, and a bespoke set of icons that encapsulated InfoChoice’s innovative essence. A robust design system was developed to ensure consistency and coherence across all brand touchpoints, setting the stage for a unified brand experience.

In parallel, I led the website development process with a focus on creating a sophisticated mobile-first platform. This involved:

User Experience Design: Conducting thorough user research and usability testing to guide the design decisions. I created detailed user personas and journey maps to design intuitive user flows that address user needs and enhance site navigation.

User Interface Design: Designing a responsive interface that adapts seamlessly to various devices. This included developing high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize and refine the user experience, ensuring alignment with both user needs and business objectives.

Visual Design: Implementing a modern visual design strategy with a carefully curated color scheme, engaging typography, and compelling imagery. I also created a comprehensive style guide and design system to support consistent application across the website.

Iconography: Designing a custom suite of icons that effectively communicated key features and functionalities, enhancing both usability and aesthetic appeal.

Throughout the project, I maintained close collaboration with developers to ensure the accurate implementation of design elements. I provided ongoing support and iterated on designs based on user testing and stakeholder feedback, ensuring the final product met the highest standards of quality and user satisfaction.

Outcome

The project culminated in the creation of a strikingly modern and distinctive brand, alongside an innovative mobile-first website, all achieved within a nine-month timeline. The end result is a sophisticated digital experience that firmly establishes InfoChoice as a leader in financial comparison. Emphasizing a mobile-first strategy, the design ensures exceptional performance across all devices. The seamless integration of UX, UI, and visual elements, accentuated by bespoke iconography, delivers a compelling and impactful user experience.
